Last Judgement

Last Judgement

The doctor at the side table put the defibrillator down, they are standing at the side of the bed

with tears in their eyes and are kneeling down at the body shaking their heads and asking god

why did this happen. The person on the table looks pale and cold. It is me, or was me now that I

stand here looking. There isn’t any radiant, glowing and warming light grabbing me? I haven’t

floated above my body as the stories were told in my life so I stand here wondering what to do.

They look above at the hospital ceiling but I am standing beside my body, I am here I shout but

they cannot hear or see me.

A holographic door appears in the middle of the room as it tears apart the fabric of the

universe. There is just darkness in the door and a man appears from it with a funky techno

jacket from the 60’s  carrying some kind of small book in his hand which appears to be a

portfolio. He is wearing dark glasses and has greasy hair.

‘Elo my gem’ he said

‘Excuse me who are you?' I said

‘My pet, all will be explained, hmmmmm you were a corker in your life weren't you’ he said

closing the portfolio.

‘You can hear me, they can’t why?’ I said

‘My pet you are dead, we are in a different place from them you see’ He said

‘No I don’t see and why have you no wings like angels are supposed to have?’ I said

‘Angel?  Oh Angels’ he started to laugh. ‘I always get asked that question, but it never ceases

to make me laugh pet when you lot do say that!’ He said

'You lot? Look are going to answer any questions at all?' I said

He took his glasses off to wipe them, but there were no eyes. I could see just two black holes

within them. I wasn’t scared as I could no longer feel emotion.

But looking into the two black holes deeper and deeper seemed to be the gateway into the

universe. I could see planets and the vastness of beautiful stars. I was mesmerised by their

beauty and could feel the light calling me into it. But he put the glasses back on.

‘What are you?’ I said

He started to laugh.

‘You have done many good deeds in your life my pet, helped many people, and given people

great happiness.  It’s a pity the car got you, but it was your time’. He said

‘What do you mean the car? Are you taking me to heaven?’ I said

He started to laugh again. I wished he would stop doing that I thought. I have

died and have no idea what is going on and this strange man who isn’t an angel is laughing at

me I thought.

They behind began to leave the room, with tissues in their hands and darkened eyes, and the

body I used to have was left on the table covered up with a cloth. The machinery was switched

off.

He led me out of the room into the main hospital; doctors were rushing about and porters were

carrying stretchers’ up and down the corridors. People were dashing around from room to

room, equipment, voices shouting and revolving doors being shut and opened. I could see a

man lying on the table at the side of the corridor who was dying slowly, his breathing was

becoming more and more deep. Beside him I could see a strange creature which looked like a

goblin sitting on his arm. It was the size of a book and had long ears like the devil. It was

grinning away and I could see he was eating this black substance that was floating from the

man’s body.

‘What is that?’ I said

A bubble appeared around us like a force field of protection and the green goblin jumped up

and began to dig into the ground to make a hole like a rabbit and scurried into it.

‘It’s gone lovely’ he said.

‘Look why don’t you answer any of my questions?’ I said

‘That creature was a Nashtag they come to collect those who have not acted right, well haven’t

done what they are supposed to do, but he won’t harm you my pie’ he said.

‘That thing didn’t have a book, like what you have’ I said

‘Well the ‘man’ love didn’t do anything worth nothing so was taken to replenish the earth, so that h
e wasn’t a complete waste then…’He said

‘So you mean that thing ate his soul?’ I said

‘You could say that, my gorgeous.’ It is time for you to go.  Do you wish to say goodbye to

anyone before I take you?' He said.

I stood inside the bubble and could only think of a face. There was a face but I could not

remember anything of the past.

‘I see him, you had great love for him’. He said

‘You can see the man when I close my eyes, but who is he?’ I said

‘It can be done, your book is thick enough for that. I will give you those memories you have of

him and the days of which you can live for in eternity within me’. He said

‘What are you?’ I said

‘Haven’t you figured it out? My sweetheart I am the universe from which you came from, the

matter of which time and space were created, and came in the façade of something which I

thought would be of some entertainment’ he said laughing. ‘I always wanted to come dressed l

like this. You and everything else are all a part of me but some do not do what they are meant

to do so the Nashtag take them away for me.’  He said.

He then took his glasses off and I could see the vastness of the universe sparking like gems,

such colour mesmerizing to my chest I could feel myself being drawn to the purple, blue and

gold colours that was sparkling. The memories of the past like a rainbow came in front of my

eyes. Jack, Jack thatwas him. The man I loved, I love there he was. He was there and I could

see his lovely face, the green eyes that was full of passion and his lovely brown

hair. He hand his hand out for me to grab so I grabbed it and I knew that I had

reached heaven.

Dexter Pearson

As a child, I loved to eat Mars bar eagley: having small bites and using both fingers to shove the little crumbs of chocolate in my profusely watering mouth. I grew fat because of this, ‘Little chubby Dexter’ I was called whilst growing up in Dagenham. I was always picked on and my mother used to try to calm me down by saying ‘Dear Dexter’. I would get bad grades in class, I am sure you can relate to the bullying readers, I sometimes would lose concentration in the class like a bull losing its horns from his head due to the name calling ‘fatty’, ‘chubby’ or ‘roly poly’. But I am Dexter I wanted to say Dexter Pearson, but I didn’t have the guts to stick up for myself at that time, nor today for that matter.    I did try to lose the weight, I joined the Essex group ‘little runners’ who ran through Barking Park as I was around eight at that time, but I looked like a ball bouncing up and down the park lanes and the children would laugh at me as I used to dru...

The Evil Step Mother’s Point of View - Cinderella

‘I hate you, you old bag’ she screamed as she threw the bowl across the room. I had made her favourite dish soup, which I had spent ages cooking in the kitchen. Her father had told me that it was going to be hard to be accepted as her new mother, but this was much harder than I had imaged. ‘Mum we have tried, I offered to give her my new dress’ said Gemma. ‘I said that I would take her to the ball with us’ said Louisa. ‘What can we do? She calls us UGLY sisters, it’s so cruel cried Pamela.    I hugged my three daughters closely, I wanted Cinderalla to accept us as we had with her. But she hated us, calling me a ‘wicked stepmother’ and slamming doors. She would cry and portray us as ogres. With the arrival of the Prince inviting us to go to the ball, I even tried to invite her but she was spoilt and rude. ‘I don’t want to go, you old bag, GET LOST’ she shouted. ‘I will get there myself’ she stormed off as usual to her room. ‘I miss my mum, you marrie...

Miranda

OUT NOW Dione the new virtual reality system. The huge billboard poster flickered with the only advert holographic projection . The streets were dark, but the advert illuminated like a candle making it the centre of attraction as though it was the essence of existence, but for the majority it had become. ‘Wow that looks amazing, I have to get it, it’s better than the Miranda system which came out last year’. Said my brother walking with me down the street, drawn to it like a mosquito to the light. He was addicted about getting a new headset every year. He was actually putting the Miranda system on as we spoke, going to the Prehistoric age, immersing himself in another world. Everyone was wearing one, but I didn’t.   This was my world, the future, a world of virtual reality. Headsets in every home, laying on the coffee table instead of books which were no longer existing. No one read anymore. They were a way of escaping the actual reality ...
